Therapy Chat was started in 2015 by Host Laura Reagan, LCSW-C (she/her), a Baltimore-area integrative trauma therapist, trainer, coach, speaker, supervisor and consultant.

Since then, Laura has been interviewing therapists, researchers, authors, coaches and other experts about healing trauma and attachment and releasing new episodes weekly.

Laura founded Trauma Therapist Network in 2021 because therapists and potential clients were contacting her with the variations of the same question:

“How can I find a therapist like the ones Laura interviews on Therapy Chat?”

“How can I learn to be the type of therapist Laura interviews on Therapy Chat?”

Learn more about how Trauma Therapist Network came into being here.

Therapy Chat Podcast conversations focus on healing trauma and attachment wounds with mindfulness, self-compassion, EMDR, Brainspotting, parts work and other integrative and somatic psychotherapy approaches as well as energy work and indigenous healing practices.

You’ll hear compassionate discussions about rebuilding self trust, recovering from betrayal trauma, identifying unhealthy family dynamics, breaking cycles of intergenerational trauma, narcissistic abuse, parental estrangement, emotional immaturity, codependency, reconnecting to intuition, developing boundaries in relationships, neuroscience, creativity, self-care, perfectionism, worthiness and much more.

Laura shares wisdom gained from her personal lived experience and more than 20 years working with trauma survivors in grassroots settings, community mental health, the military, and her group psychotherapy private practice.

As a therapist with developmental trauma, Laura is sensitive to the challenges of healing from abuse, neglect and loss and she shares from her own journey so listeners can learn that Trauma Is Real, Healing Is Possible and Help Is Available.

Whether you’re a mental health professional or not, the discussions heard on Therapy Chat will teach you to understand yourself and your relationships more deeply and to connect with others from your highest self.

You’ll learn about alternatives to traditional talk therapy. Therapy Chat focuses on “bottom-up” approaches to healing trauma. Be a fly on the wall as Laura and her guests talk about psychotherapy in ways that might surprise you!
